On January 5, 2021, Gordon Delos Price passed away peacefully at the age of 78 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Long Beach, CA on February 17, 1942 to Ernest Leatham Price and Bonita Nichols Price, both originally from northern Utah. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1960 where he lettered in track and field for pole vaulting. He earned his bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Weber State University in 1969 after originally starting college at Utah State University with a scholarship for pole vaulting. As a young man he also proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Marine Corps Reserve. On July 16, 1966, he married Helene Evensen. Together they moved several times and lived in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Ogden, Sandy, and Las Vegas. They raised 2 children and have 7 grandchildren.
Gordon was proud of the computer systems he helped engineer for Sperry/Unisys, Honeywell, Bull, GTE, the US Air Force, and several other companies before retiring at the age of 62 from Hill AFB. For hobbies he played several musical instruments including the bugle, drums, guitar, trombone, and piano. He also painted, golfed, skied, was a mean fast-pitch softball pitcher, loved going out to eat and the movies, and telling stories and jokes. He traveled around to compete in amateur senior citizen pole vaulting competitions well into his 60's. He loved traveling to Las Vegas and the southern California beaches with his wife and family. His favorite pastime was to be an amazing husband, father, and grandfather.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife, 2 children, 7 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and many nieces and nephews.
